What to wear and what not to wear for the holidays?

WHAT TO WEAR AND WHAT NOT TO WEAR FOR THE HOLIDAYS?

Beyond any doubt, there are fewer dressing options, compared to women, when it comes to men. However, men dress to impress. And when men do that, they go about making a style statement. The holiday season is an opportunity to socialize, spend quality time with near and dear ones. While doing so, it is best to look good, as looking good can make one feel good. The last two holiday seasons were sober. However, this year is a tad different. We have every reason to celebrate and yes, we can celebrate in style! Read on how you can make a style statement with your apparels this season.

Opt for the right set of colors
When it comes to selecting the hue of your apparel, remember that a girl, teenager, woman or an elderly woman can carry off a color, but men need to tone down when it comes to selecting the right shade of apparel to wear. Even if you were an outfit that fits you well, that is made for the occasion, the color of your apparel can make or break your day. Never mind, it is the festive season. It is all bright and colorful all around. You don’t want to grab eyeballs for all the wrong reasons right? Be it a dinner with family or while partying with friends, remember to compliment your apparels, else you will look out of place and you could end up feeling out of the place as well.

Pair your accessories maturely
A majority of men were an accessory because it is new. You must carefully pair your accessories with your apparel such that they look natural. Remember, no matter how good your apparels are, the accessories can make you look good if they are carefully paired. Else the same accessories, regardless of how good and branded they are, can contribute towards making them feel like a mismatch. One of the most common accessory a man wears is a watch. Carefully pick your watch that compliments your attire and that gels with the occasion. Also, make sure your pick of fragrance matches the occasion. Remember, you don’t have to dress formal for the festive season. However, it is paramount that you dress for the occasion.
In addition to the above recommended outfits depending upon whether the wedding is formal, casual or even semi-causal, the location and season of the wedding play an important part in the selection of the right outfit for wedding guests. If you’re a guest to a Summer beach wedding, the recommended style will be lighter colors. For Fall weddings, go for darker jewel-tone colors and richer fabric materials including silk and velvet. In the case of winter weddings, I recommend cashmere, velvet and wool, in addition to jackets, blazers and heavily constructed shoes. When the summer is at its peak, the best outfit for wedding guests should include fabrics that are lightweight, comfortable and free flowing.
And what not to wear for the holidays?
If deciding what to wear for the holiday is one thing, deciding what not to wear is another thing. It can also be a daunting challenge to decide what not to wear. Now, if your holiday involves a lot of packing, it can be a strain on your part, and may well play spoilsport. Be doubly careful about what not to wear especially for your office holiday party. And in case you’re travelling to some place warm, where the climate turns unbearable, don’t forget to pack your swimsuit and other accessories. You can also include lightweight outfits when you aren’t relaxing at the beach. A lightweight kaftan can prove to be quintessential when you need to cover yourself up at the beach; it is short enough to be teamed up with shorts if you want to put it on and take a walk around town. Light colors aren’t preferable, but definitely not a no no. Go for bright, vibrant colors and pastels and a stylish wide brim hat that can prevent the sun’s rays from reaching your eyes.

Not attempting to study holiday attire can dent your efforts however much you try to impress upon onlookers. For instance, wearing jewelry—maybe I don’t mind simple and easily removable bracelet—is not recommended, as this crafts a cheap gaudy look. Check for any bulky accessories as well. Stylish exercise gear can make your feel comfy, but not at the expense of sacrificing style points. I wouldn’t recommend exercise gear or athleisure for plane rides too. An important point I need to mention here is the use of flammable synthetic fibers including nylon and polyester. This is because they are kind of restrictive, don’t allow easy movement of airflow which means they are not breathable during travel. Avoid wearing oversized coats when you fly. Needless to say, they’re cumbersome, and to squeeze those into your carry-on or the overhead bin requires an extraordinary effort. Finally, avoid wearing flip flops as you will find it difficult if you need to sprint for a flight or catch a bus. Bonus: Any good in leaving your feet exposed to germs and dirt?
