Here’s the most vital difference between tucked and untucked in a button-up shirt. The zipper on your pants offers a simple rule that you can easily remember: The front of the shirt should terminate somewhere between the midpoint and lower end of your zipper.
The shirt tail should end between the bottom and middle of your pant pockets. Ensure it never fully covers your butt whatsoever. Now, if it does, it means the shirt is either too large, or it’s likely a dress shirt constructed to be tucked in.
