Single-breasted jackets have been in vogue since the 1980’s, especially the classic ‘V’ style. The most common type of suit lapel, the notch lapel, is characterized by a discernible indent at the spot where the collar converges with the lapel. Easily the most multi-purpose format of lapel styles, the notch lapel is not just super-perfect for the boardroom but for the cocktail lounge as well. I recommend the ‘V’ style if you’re on the fence about which men’s lapel type to go with.
