Spacing between the buttons on a shirt!

#TeachingsTuesdays

Last week, we saw the standard button placement for the top button below the collar. This week, let’s see the button placement for the rest of the buttons on a dress shirt. You can choose the spacing as 3.1″, 3.3″, or 3.5″ based on the bottommost button placement. Adjusting these spaces can alter your posture when you wear the shirt.

#MotivationalMondays

We’ve heard from many renowned personalities, including writers, businessmen, and fashion designers, that grooming is essential to earning your respect in society. Not only does respect, but it also plays a vital role in seeking people’s attention and their time. Today, if you don’t groom yourself or present yourself in a proper style, you cannot expect the audience to give their attention, which is a loss of time and money for you. The great businessman Daymond also conveys this same message through these quotes.

A cool Friday-style attire for this early winter

#FreestyleFridays

The model wears a crewneck cardigan in dark hunter green. It is the first layer of warmth. And then comes the soft, furry fleece jacket. It is the second layer of warmth. As we’re just migrating to winter from the fall, let’s retain the loose jeans for style. Overall, this is cool casual wear for mild, cold days in the winter.

Notably, the mandarin collar of the jacket adds a more casual look to the whole outfit.

What a perfect vintage suit, tailored with details!

#Throwbackthursdays

The man wears a tailored vintage three-piece suit. The shirt is white, the vest is gray, and the blazers are gray and black. It’s a perfect combination with a perfect vintage style in terms of necktie patterns, a mildly striped dress shirt, buttons, lapel width, peak lapel design, and importantly, the ‘House of Fraser’ hat.

Indeed, this is the right vintage suit for winter because you have an overcoat on top of the three-piece suit.

Winter is on. The double-breasted coat is on.

#WearItWednesdays

Seriously, double-breasted blazers and coats are a real blessing in disguise for business officials and officegoers. They need to wear a formal style and, at the same time, insulate themselves from the winter weather.

What is a ‘Placket Bump’ in a shirt?

#TeachingsTuesdays

‘Placket bump’ is an undesired bump that arises between your collar button and the first button on the placket of your shirt when buttoned. This problem arises when the distance between those two buttons is above the standard spacing.

However, there are two ways to solve this bump. One is by reducing the space by 0.5 or 1 inch. The second is by wearing a tie, which will automatically cover the bump and will not be visible from most angles.

“You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” —Oscar Wilde

#MotivationalMondays

Before we get into what Oscar Wilde means, first, let’s understand the meaning of the word ‘overdressed’. The simple synonyms are dressed up, attired, ostentatious, or too formal for an occasion or an event.

In this quote, the popular playwright shared his view that you can never be overdressed or overeducated. Because neither dressing up nor too much knowledge is going to bother or harm you in any way. So, when someone says you’re overdressed, tell them, “I ain’t overdressed; I’m just over-smart!”

A beautiful life is ahead of the groom and the bride. So, let them share their promises and love for each other by presenting themselves gorgeously! This is one such elegant wedding suit for the groom getting married this late autumn.

While the dark navy blue woolen blazer shows the honesty, positivity, and commitment of the man, the light blue floral patterns on the blazer show calmness and serenity. Together, by wearing this suit, the man attempts to share his emotions with the bride!

A fall-winter transitional casual men’s blazer

#FreestyleFridays

First, wear the usual white shirt and matching trousers. Second, cover your shirt with a thick sweater or cardigan. Prefer dark-shaded layers to elevate the white shirt. Over and above, wear a pastel gray woolen blazer with single breasts. Again, add a scarf around your neck to strengthen the layers and completely insulate from the cold weather.

This might look too much for a few men. In that case, remove one or two items and keep yourself comfortable.

Know about vintage suit accessories for men

#Throwbackthursdays

Brooches were used by most men in the olden days to decorate their lapels on suits. These are commonly called lapel pins. Pocket watches are one of the most important vintage accessories for men. However, today, they have become antique pieces. You might have also seen wooden smoking pipes or the small, flat, pocket whisky bottles in the hands of every leader in those days.

Though bow ties are still in use today, they are considered vintage because they originated in the 17th century to hold the dress shirt.

Let’s end this fall with a distinguishing business suit!
