Major shapes of bow ties

#TeachingsTuesdays

Last Tuesday, we saw what bow ties are. This week, let’s explore the different shapes of bow ties.

Skinny bow tie—looks small and skinny. Not suitable for suits with large lapels.

Normal bow tie—it is a standard 2.5 inches in size. Looks balanced.

Butterfly bow tie—probably above 3 inches in size. Suits formal occasions and men with large heads.

Diamond bow tie—standard size but tied in a diamond shape. Known as the James Bond-style bow tie.

Self-tie bow tie—as the name implies, men tie these themselves.

“Style is the answer to everything. A fresh way to approach a dull or dangerous thing.” —Charles Bukowski

#MotivationalMondays

Charles, the great novelist, has lots of influences from the social, cultural, and economic aspects of life he lived in Los Angeles. Hence, his works, somewhere or another, draw our attention as we start connecting ourselves.

In the same way, he says in his quote that style is everything. And it is the difference. It is a way of doing different things and a way of being done. In other words, he calls doing anything with style an art.

The model wears a chic yet professional suit that perfectly suits the winter weather. The long brown cashmere jacket provides insulation, apart from the dress shirt and the folded shawl. You can choose the pants either in the same cashmere or regular wool fabric. For the brown winter jacket, trousers in black and a dress shirt in white make the best pair.

What are bow ties?

#TeachingsTuesdays

Bow ties are a symbol of style, sophistication, confidence, and celebration. Men wear bow ties to show their elegance, freedom, and limitations. Though men wear them for both formal and informal occasions, they are more suitable for formal weddings.

You might have seen some renowned people wearing them, like Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, and Abraham Lincoln. But this does not mean that wearing a bow tie is outdated fashion. Even today, they are well appreciated and accepted.

#MotivationalMondays

Your personality, beliefs, abilities, and perceptions are the things that define your character. When a man gets dressed up neatly and with style, he wants to define himself to others and express his sense of self. By doing so, he gains the self-confidence to face his life and upcoming challenges. Also, he can create an identity for himself.
