“Because when I look at you, I can feel it. And I look at you and I’m home.” – Dory, Finding Nemo
A clean white dress shirt tops the list of formal choices on your big day. Patterns are fine for the groomsmen and audience, but for the groom. Light shades of blue, cream, off-white are alternate choices. Don’t forget that your shirt collar is going to be everywhere; therefore, make sure it fits nicely. If you need to skip the necktie, ensure you put on a dress shirt built with a collar whose points stay out of your way. A medium spread is a good choice, and check whether your dress shirt collar stays to ensure the points don’t fold.

Casual Shirt Tips For Men
#FreestyleFridays
Stripes, check patterns and geo prints are real fun ways to add a little oomph to your overall look. As a general rule of thumb, it’s a good idea to limit the number of patterned pieces to not have too much going on at one time (unless you feel the urge—then go for it).

1940’s Bow Tie
#ThrowbackThursdays
The bow tie alternated the necktie in the 1940s. It had lost popularity because it wasn’t bold enough compared to handpainted ties. They too, were made of rayon in medium-sized prints constructed with an adjustable neckband up to 16”. The ends were either square (butterfly) or diamond tipped predominantly in maroon, blue or brown colors. In the late ’40s, bow ties disappeared again except as part of work uniforms in wool, plain or cotton types.

Semi Formal Attire For Men
#WearitWednesdays
For a great semi-formal outfit, rely on great tailoring
Only appropriate tailoring will do magic for semi-formal looks. Go for neutrals and dusty powder hues for day looks which can go well with different matching pieces; select darker suiting for night events. Blazers in classic colors are fabulous starting points for semi-formal looks that you can simply top up by pops of color; throw up surprise with accessory choices. Pair it up with fit trousers and more dimensional shirts to layer for a sophisticated look.

“A happy marriage is the union of two good forgivers.”
—Robert Quillen

Suit Styles For Short Men
#TeachingTuesdays
Using the right fit to appear taller
It all starts with first choosing the right fits and colors for you. If you’ve got short legs, you need to lengthen your leg line. Want to look taller? Try matching your belt and shoes with your pants. The unbroken color will make your legs appear longer.
I always recommend shorter guys not to wear an oversized jacket – especially a sports jacket, a suit jacket or even a leather jacket.
Dashing Medium Grey Suit For Work
#MotivationalMondays
“Your life doesn’t get better by chance. It gets better by change.”
Don’t leave your life to chance. Change happens with a dashing medium grey suit. It will look great with a white shirt or a light blue shirt on. Not to mention with a tie, or even without one. You can go for a more sober, dark navy or dark gray suit first to help you land on your dream job. But the medium grey suit? That is the fun part—and definitely, a must have for work, or to a cocktail hour.
