What was men’s staple wear in the early 1960s?
Since the early 60’s were still dusting off the strong conservative values of the 1950’s, menswear at the beginning of the 60s were more towards business look. Think ‘Mad Men’: fitting suits, jackets and blazers. Hats were still very much in fashion, although the leading luminaries of the era ditched them soon after.

It isn’t for nothing that the ’60s stand out as one of the most defining eras in men’s fashion. The changes in style where impossible not to notice, how the conservativeness of decades’ past had given way to a much more energetic, bold overall design. The early years, however, were heavily influenced by Italian designers, who brought a sense of refinement to men’s cuts and styles.

It’s (still) Wednesday? Can I get away with wearing jeans?
Jean’s span across a wide range. Of course, any jeans that have rips in, are too garishly bleached or too tight, fall austerely within the casual realm and wouldn’t go by the smart litmus test. However, darker indigo denim can be smart casual as long as the clothes around them are formal. But watch out, some places ban wearing jeans despite having a smart casual dress code.

Quick Maintenance hack
Make sure your suit fits your body type and you’re comfortable in it. Dry cleaning the suits and airing them from time to time is the simplest maintenance hack that we always tell to our clients.

You know that feeling, gentlemen. 

You have a big function coming up, or a very promising job interview, so you find yourself scrambling for the most presentable formal wear you have. You might have a great shirt, or even a pair of pants that suits you flawlessly. Yet, look at the end result of the contents of your wardrobe — an outfit that passes the muster for formality, but does little to make you stand out. Even worse, your formalwear may simply be inappropriate with perhaps clashing or, and this is the worst offender of them all, ill-fitting pieces.

1920s men’s pants grew from skinny jazz trousers to wide straight leg trousers to the over-sized oxford bags in the span of just 10 years. All men’s 1920s pants had very high waists and waist bands held up with button suspenders. Vintage pants and reproduction pants are very hard to come by. Instead, you can wear new men’s pants with 1920s style like these. Look for flat front pants that fit high on the waist (no low rise) in distinct patterns such as stripes, plaid, checks, tweed and herringbone. Cuff the legs for that extra bit of 1920s fashion.
