“Style is not a display of wealth but an expression of imagination.” —Unknown.

#MotivationalMondays

Style can be an expression of imagination, creativity, and sophistication but not wealth. Even with unbranded clothes and accessories, a stylist can create an adorning style with balance and coordination. Honestly, it is the style that adds value to the outfit and not the price that adds value to the style. What do you think? Drop in the comments!

Transitioning Your Wardrobe for Fall 2024: Men’s Fashion Tips

Autumn is already in! And it’s time to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall collections. Though it is a yearly routine, only basic things are constant, and most items have to be replaced to cope with the latest men’s fashion trends. This 2024, you can make use of the below tips when purchasing or finding a match for your fall apparel.

Tips to create your fall capsule wardrobe

From suit sets to respective accessories, a fall capsule wardrobe must be versatile enough to mix and match and create as many new fall suit styles as possible. Altogether, your wardrobe can have around 30–40 items, including shoes, belts, layers, shirts, polo tees, jackets, etc. Not only does it avoid purchasing new clothing every year, but it also reduces textile waste or landfills to support sustainability.

  1. Layers

In clothing, the major shift from summer to fall has always been the layers. From changing the lightweight to heavy fabrics, from reduced layers to adding more layers, these characterize the new fall. Thick fabrics like wool, fleece, and tweed are preferred as layers in this new season. Be it blazers or jackets, add five to six of them to your wardrobe to match both formal and informal suits.

  1. Overcoats

Double-breasted coats and quilted jackets are the best choices for overcoats in autumn. These overcoats give adequate warmth to the body, creating insulation from the chilling outdoors. Add two to three formal and informal overcoats each. This keeps you layered all the time, irrespective of the occasion—formal, semi-formal, casual, wedding, etc.

  1. Shirts

Typically, men choose long-sleeved shirts for fall outfits. 100% wool-made flannel shirts are good. Even if you choose wool-cotton blends, ensure your overcoat layers are much heavier for balancing the cold weather. Also, prefer adding knitted shirts to your wardrobe. Ideally, add three to four formal and casual shirt types each. So, meticulously check for the latest prints and colors before buying a dress shirt.

  1. Trousers

Of course, you can have a combination of trousers, including chinos, denim, slim-fit slacks, regular pants, jeans, etc. Thinking of adding a corduroy pant to your ensemble? You’re right there! They are the most liked material this fall concerning men’s apparel. Make sure the trouser colors are unique and can match a wide range of overcoats or layers. Six to seven pairs of trousers would do well. Check out the suit styling tips, dos, and don’ts here >>>

  1. Accessories
    1. Shoes: Based on the color of your shirts, suits, and jackets, pick four to five pairs of shoes in distinctive styles—loafers, boots, Oxford shoes, etc.
    2. Ties and belts: This follows the same tips as the shoes.
    3. Watches: Choose two to three watches that go well with all sorts of occasions—formal, wedding, and casual. You can even match the color of the strap and the dial relative to your outfits, but that gets too deep. So, let’s consider only the fundamentals.

Conclusion

Above all, ensure two things—color and fit. Just so you know, the vibrant fall shades include mustard yellow, sun orange, scarlet red, chocolate brown, ocean blue, warm/deep green, burnt orange, burgundy, cherry red, pale yellow, coffee brown, etc. When it comes to fit, always prefer made-to-measure or custom suits tailored to your measurements.

Why consider knitwear for autumn?

#TeachingsTuesdays

Of course, knitwear is a timeless staple in men’s wardrobes. But they are most preferred in autumn to help with a smooth transition from colder to freezing temperatures. They give both warmth and style when paired appropriately.

If not in the early autumn, men must include knitwear apparel at least in the late autumn. Moreover, they need not be layered only as overcoats. They are perfect for inner layers as well.

“A suit is the modern gentleman’s armor.” —Kingsman

#MotivationalMondays

Like how armors protect the warriors, in today’s world, suits tend to protect a gentleman. Firstly, wearing a suit gives men the confidence to face people, challenges, or situations. Second, it empowers the professional feel and looks. Third, it helps earn respect from other people. After all, we know how an outfit can positively and negatively influence people’s perceptions. And with a properly styled suit, men get all the positivity that’s needed.
