How can you change a formal outfit into a casual one? All you need to do is consider darker colors and smarten your look with the right accessories. A case in point is an olive green bomber jacket, layered upon a T-shirt, stonewashed jeans and accessorized with white trainers. Now swap the olive bomber for a navy one and similarly the stonewashed jeans for indigo. All of a sudden it feels dressier. Increasingly pronounced if you swap the white T-shirt; for example, charcoal or mid-grey and the trainers for black or navy. Though the underlying styles are more or less the same, the resultant effect is quite different. The converse is also true: lightening up produces a formal look.
