The 1990’s saw another huge fashion transformation as men basically ditched any and all trends of the previous decades, all in an effort to stay fashion-relevant in the 90’s. Casual was here to stay, and minimalism became the watchword. The mainstream fashion was impacted by three major youth subcultures of the 90’s: rave, hip-hop, and grunge. T-shirts, jeans, shorts, sweatshirts, trainers and hoodies made up the majority of a man’s wardrobe. As a matter of fact, the shift was oriented towards casual fashion and an outright rejection of formality and rigidity.
